How it works
- Enable the skill in the Alexa app and link your Amazon account.
- Choose your settings at alexa.imuslimlife.com: your location, calculation method, Asr time, Fajr Athan, and what plays after the Athan.
- Create one Alexa routine that starts when the Muslim Companion Azan sensor opens. The skill opens that sensor at each prayer time.
- Hear the Athan on the Echo you picked, five times a day, adjusted for your location every day.
Nothing is set up by voice. The dashboard works on your phone or computer, and you can change a setting any time; your next Athan uses it.
Everything Muslim Companion does on Alexa
Accurate times for where you live
Prayer times are calculated for your exact location each day. On the dashboard you choose the calculation method your community follows, such as ISNA, Muslim World League, Umm al-Qura or Karachi, and the Asr time (Hanafi or standard). If you travel, update your location and the next Athan follows you.
Try saying
“Alexa, ask Muslim Companion what is my next prayer”
“Alexa, ask Muslim Companion for today's prayer times”
“Alexa, ask Muslim Companion to start Hifz”
