Terms of Use for iMuslimLife and Muslim Companion

Effective: September 30, 2026

These Terms also apply at alexa.imuslimlife.com/terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and YZ Infotech (“we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of Muslim Companion, including the website at imuslimlife.com, the website and dashboard at alexa.imuslimlife.com, the Muslim Companion Alexa skill, our public prayer-times API and MCP server for AI assistants, and related services, content and audio (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account, linking the skill, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who may use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws of the United States or where you live, including if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions, or are on a U.S. government restricted-party list.

3. The Service and third-party platforms

The Service calculates prayer times for your chosen location and can play the Athan, Duas and Quran recitations on compatible devices, send reminders, and offer related features. Some features depend on third-party platforms such as Amazon Alexa and Echo devices. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Muslim Companion is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon, Google or any other platform provider; “Alexa”, “Echo” and related marks belong to their owners.

We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Features described as “coming soon” are not promised.

4. Your account

You agree to give accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us promptly about any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity under your account. An account is for one person or household and may not be shared, sold or transferred.

5. Prayer times, religious content and reliability

Prayer times are calculations. They depend on the calculation method, school of thought, location and settings you choose, and may differ from your local mosque or other sources. Please verify times that matter to you, especially for fasting and during travel.

Religious content is provided for general devotional use. It is not a religious ruling (fatwa) or scholarly advice. Where we describe the virtue of a recitation we cite our sources and label the strength of the evidence, but you should consult qualified scholars for religious guidance. Translations are the work of their named translators and are approximations of meaning.

Delivery is not guaranteed. Scheduled Athans, reminders and recitations rely on the internet, third-party platforms, your devices and their settings. They may be late, interrupted or missed. Do not rely on the Service for anything where a missed or late alert could cause harm. The Service is not an emergency or safety service.

6. Your license to use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the Service through its official interfaces (the website and dashboard, and the Muslim Companion skill on supported devices). All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7. Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

You agree not to, and not to help or allow anyone else to:

  • scrape, crawl, spider, harvest, bulk-download or systematically collect any part of the Service, including prayer data, the reciter and audio catalog, audio files, texts or translations, whether manually or by automated means, except through the official interfaces for your personal use;
  • copy, reproduce, imitate or create derivative works of the Service’s software, design, look and feel, user interface, workflows, text or compilations, including to build, train or operate a competing or substitute product or service;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to derive source code, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
  • access the Service through APIs, endpoints or methods other than those we make available for that purpose, or exceed or circumvent rate limits, access controls, security measures or technical restrictions. Our public prayer-times API and MCP server may be used by individuals, developers and AI assistants within their published rate limits;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers or networks, or other users, including by introducing malware or sending excessive requests;
  • access another person’s account or data without authorization, or impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with us;
  • sell, resell, sublicense, rent or commercially exploit the Service or its content, or frame or mirror it;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice; or
  • use the Service in violation of any applicable law or these Terms.

We monitor for abuse, may limit request rates, and may block or suspend access that we reasonably believe violates this section.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, user interface, graphics, text, selection and arrangement of content, and the names and logos “Muslim Companion” and “Salat-e-Mustaqeem”, is owned by YZ Infotech or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws of the United States and other countries. You may not use our names, logos or trade dress without our prior written permission.

Quran recitations, Athan recordings, Dua audio and translations are the property of their respective reciters, publishers or rights holders, or are in the public domain, and are made available through the Service for personal devotional listening only.

10. Feedback

If you send us suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation to you.

11. Privacy

We process the information needed to run the Service, such as your email address, the location you set for prayer times, your settings, identifiers provided by linked platforms (for example Alexa account and device identifiers), and technical logs used for reliability and security. We do not sell your personal information. You may ask us to delete your account data by contacting us. Platform providers such as Amazon process data under their own privacy policies.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, for example by disabling the skill and asking us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or possible legal exposure for us or others, or if required by law. Suspension stops scheduled alerts and access to your dashboard. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 7 through 9 and 13 through 17) will survive.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that prayer times, alerts, recitations or other content will be accurate, timely or available.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, YZ Infotech and its owners, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill or profits, arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim or fifty U.S. dollars (US$50). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not all apply to you.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless YZ Infotech and its owners, employees and contractors from claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute relating to the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at info@yzinfotech.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Any claim that is not resolved informally must be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Seminole County, Florida, or the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies.

17. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here with its effective date and, for material changes, give notice in the dashboard. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party platforms.
